Besides visiting SM and JYP (which has sadly moved out of their old building) in the Cheongdamdong area, another company that you can definitely pay a visit to is FNC Entertainment. FNC is home to acts such as FT Island, CNBLUE, SF9, AOA, and now even our favourite host Yoo Jaesuk is in this company as well.
As with other entertainment companies, this building is not open to the public, but there’s no saying if you may get to see celebrities moving in and out of the celebrity vans parked there!
Address: 06012 46 Dosan-daero 85-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
Bundang Line, Apgujeong-Rodeo Station, Exit 2
This is a bit of a walking distance from JYP’s old building, but is actually quite near SM. Click here to see up-to-date directions on Google Maps from Apgujeong-Rodeo Station! If you’re unable to access, you can also take reference from the screenshot I have taken below on general directions:
We waited here for about half an hour because we saw the vans parked right outside, so we thought that maybeeee they were parked there to pick up celebs from the company. We were probably right because we kept seeing this particular manager going in and out of the van, but we lost our patience standing there under the hot sun (huge kudos to the Korean fans who stood there tirelessly even after we left) and decided to leave.
Frankly, there isn’t much to do here besides sightseeing and ‘visiting’. It is definitely a good experience, but if you are rushing for time and have a very packed itinerary, I certainly would not recommend going out of the way to visit this.
As with entertainment companies, if you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of celebrities, your best bet would be to look out for a crowd of Korean fans around the building, because they would most likely be well-informed of their idols’ schedules and camping at the building in advance. Be warned though, there is no shelter nor seats nearby, so you’ll most likely have to stand in the heat/cold/rain if you decide to wait.
